A History of Outstanding Solutions and Service
Established in 1985 with a presence in the healthcare marketplace, our initial business unit was launched as a third-party logistics (3PL) business for the healthcare industry under the name Making Distribution Intelligent ("MDI"). These logistics services include storing and managing, on a consignment basis, biotech and pharmaceutical product inventory on behalf of our manufacturing clients. Over the last 18 years, our leaders have had the foresight to predict the outsourcing trend of the healthcare industry and the complexity of additional services the industry would come to demand. This vision prompted the launch of the Product Support and Pharmacy Support divisions in 2001.
With the rapid growth and diversity of services the company now offered, a decision was made in 2000 to brand the company as RxCrossroads™, The Intersection of Total Service™. Today, RxCrossroads™ offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored to the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. RxCrossroads™ is the only organization with the three support divisions integrated under one management team.
In August of 2005, RxCrossroads™ became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Omnicare, Inc. This partnership provides RxCrossroads™ the financial strength of a large corporation, coupled with the flexibility of a small company. The services offered by Omnicare include pharmacy services for institutional facilities (including long-term care, intermediate care, hospitals and other facilities), specialty pharmacy distribution of pharmaceuticals and contract research services for clinical trials.
