MDI™ Expands Executive Staff

LOUISVILLE, KY - MDI, a third-party logistics provider to the healthcare industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Peterson as vice president of logistics.
Paul Peterson has 19 years of sales and marketing management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. His diverse background includes roles in brand development, strategic planning, product launches in niche markets and field sales. Peterson joined MDI after four years at Bone Care International, a publicly traded company that discovers, develops and commercializes vitamin D analogs used to treat renal disease, osteoporosis and selected cancers. In his roles as vice president of marketing and later as vice president of sales, he was responsible for building a sales and marketing infrastructure to launch the company's first two commercial products into the US dialysis market. Peterson's tenure at Bone Care International enabled him to identify organizational management issues in start-up businesses and understand the significant influence that reimbursement and practice economics have on market dynamics. As director of peptide hormones at Pharmacia, he led a multidisciplinary unit responsible for the US launch of Genotropin (recombinant human growth hormone). His other experiences at Pharmacia include roles in strategic planning, marketing to managed care programs and the federal government, implementation of medical sciences liaison programs and field sales management. Peterson holds a bachelor's degree from Augustana College.
